The screen tower and box office are still standing. I believe Cox closed the Starglow Drive-In in 1989 and he still was operating the Dixie Cruise-In at that time. At one time, Cox also controlled the Colonial Theatre (aka Sorg’s Opera House), the Studio Theatre and built the Towne East Theatre in Middletown. In 1970, Earl Cox would go out and buy the Dixie Cruise-In. They show first run double features seasonally. The Dixie Twin Drive-In Theater is a classic example of Americana that offers current day value with a touch of nostalgia. The Melody 49 Twin Drive-in is a large drive-in that sits on 18 acres and can hold up to 1100 cars. The Midway Twin Drive-In Theatre shows a first-run double feature, seven nights per week, on each of its two movie screens.
